Commerce Minister Craig Foss today announced two reappointments to the Takeovers Panel. 

Andy Coupe has been reappointed as a member for a term of three years and six months and Murdo Beattie has been reappointed as a member for a term of five years.

“I am pleased that these current Panel members have accepted a further term. The  Panel’s work is highly regarded and its contribution to the regulatory environment for business is invaluable,” says Mr Foss.

Andy Coupe was first appointed as a member of the Panel in 2008. He has over 30 years of investment banking experience, including advising on several of New Zealand’s major takeovers as well as numerous large capital markets transactions. Andy is the current Deputy Chair of the Panel.

Murdo Beattie was first appointed to the Panel in 2008 and is a Partner in the investment banking firm of Cameron Partners Limited. Cameron Partners is a leading New Zealand investment banking firm. Murdo frequently leads their advice to clients making takeover offers or responding to takeover offers. He is an experienced adviser in the New Zealand takeover market.
