On 19 February 2025, NZ Windfarms Limited (NZ Windfarms) and Meridian Energy Limited (Meridian) entered into a scheme implementation agreement under which Meridian would acquire all of the fully paid ordinary shares that it did not already hold in NZ Windfarms, for consideration of $0.25 per share by way of scheme of arrangement (the Scheme).
On 24 June 2025, NZ Windfarms’ shareholders voted to approve the Scheme. The High Court granted final orders on 16 July 2025, and the Scheme was implemented on 30 July 2025.
